Classics of 20th Century Russian Cello Music

"Truls Mørk is one of the most notable contemporary cellists, unfortunately underappreciated (if not unknown) in America. I purchased this CD especially for Stravinsky's Suite Italienne, and Mørk certainly does not disappoint. The Shostakovich and Prokofiev Sonatas are also very good. Mørk has always surpassed my expectations for beauty of tone and interpretation.
