"An unfortunate release from Virgin & the Lausanne Chamber Orchestra. This disc is characterized by muddy recorded sound and very sloppy playing from the orchestra. Muffed notes, late, early or hesitant entries all abound. As a saxophonist, I notice the saxophone part in Milhaud's "Creation of the World" in particular. The saxophonist can be heard entering early, stopping, and trying again. Other instrumentalists suffer from this also. It really is surprising that this was released at all! This is truly one to avoid.

For Milhaud's masterpiece I like Hansjorg Schellenberger and the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi The Art of Saxophone or Michael Tilson Thomas and the New World Symphony New World Jazz."
