Produced by Jacob Hansen (who has also worked with Volbeat, Rob Rock and Beyond Twilight), Pandemonium, with its melodic approach, is a definite return to the Future World/Red Hot And Heavy era of the '80s, but with an updated sound and freshness that consolidates that Pretty Maids are as strong as ever. Could this be the best Pretty Maids release ever?
Justin Gaines | Northern Virginia | 06/19/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"You know, I thought Pretty Maids had their act together when they released their 2006 album Wake Up to the Real World, but their latest offering - Pandemonium - may be their best album ever! The Danish melodic hard rock/metal band has released a lot of great albums over the past 25 years, but they really came up with something special here.

Pandemonium is the band's 11th full-length album, and it's just magnificent in every sense of the word. The music, the vocals, the songwriting, the production - all are amazingly well done. Pandemonium has the signature Pretty Maids sound. It's hard-hitting but highly melodic, but Ronnie Atkins' vocals just sound incredible here. Of course, it helps that the songs he's singing are all extremely well-written and the production, courtesy of Jacob Hansen (who has produced Volbeat and Rob Rock) is impeccable. Ken Hammer's guitar work is just as impressive. Between the melodies and the solos he's definitely giving 100%. I've been a Pretty Maids fan for a while, but I've never heard them quite like this.

If you are/were/want to be a Pretty Maids fan, you absolutely must hear this album. If you're a fan of bands like Jorn, Starbreaker, At Vance or Pink Cream 69, you need to hear it too. Pandemonium is one of the best melodic hard rock/metal albums to come along in a long time, and should be sitting atop a lot of "year's best" lists in no time."
