Synopsis

Amazon.com
Though computer geeks are forever telling the rest of us about the possibilities inherent in enhanced CDs, most of 'em are either junk (more bad video of more bad bands) or blatant marketing ("Hey, buy our T-shirt/tour book/video!"). This project by the Champaign, IL, pop-punk quartet is a welcome exception. In addition to a dozen strong tunes comprising the Poster Children's fifth full album, the CD comes with such extra goodies. These include a technical manual of the band's tour van done up like those Star Trek Enterprise schematics; instructions for fellow do-it-yourselfers about how to start a web page and a record label; tour reports; and, yeah, a little bit of hype about previous recordings (in this case, it's justified). If you're already a fan, it'll make you love the band even more. If you're as yet unfamiliar with the Poster Kids' high-energy, hook-heavy punk, it's the perfect introduction. Jim Derogatis

CD Reviews

Great cd, music and tons more
01/25/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Nowhere do I see mentioned that this CD, besides containing some great PC music, has TONS of great stuff that the P-Kids (mostly the bass player, Rose) programmed in - tons of pictures of the band, a complete discography, games, videos, tour reports, etc. You can spend hours just playing around with it! So this CD is a super bargain - highly recommended."
The best import from Illinois.

"Straight from Cham'bana (land o' super computing and NCSA) the pkids prove in their 5th release that quality indie rock still exists. Be sure to catch one of their excellent shows."
