Synopsis

Product Description
If 2005's Shallow was Pissed Jeans coping with moving out of their parents' homes, and 2007's Hope for Men their initial reaction to the mechanical lifestyle of a wage-earner, King of Jeans is their formal and uneasy acceptance of adulthood, by way of one hell of a rock record. From simple minds and simple fabrics comes this King of Jeans. And there can be only one.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Awesome album. Tighter production than on "Hope for Men". Pissed Jeans' typically hilarious and thought provoking lyrics delivered in a soul wounded howl. Great stuff! I can think of a few influences: Flipper, Melvins, Jesus Lizard, but done in a unique style. Those are just sonic touchstones."
Pissed Jeans' best yet.

"This is a major improvement over their last album. I wasn't as impressed with Hope for Men as others were. It had a few great tracks, but was uneven overall. King of Jeans is better on every front: production, songwriting, lyrics, EVERYTHING. Mean-spirited, loud, sludgy, funny, noisy indie rock like they used to make back in the day. A great throwback to Sub Pop's pre-grunge explosion years and one of this year's best albums."
