Interesting recording

"Night on the Bare Mountain is one of the best recordings I've ever heard. Phenomenal. The version of Pictures at an Exhibition on this recording is very interesting. I like the conductor's arrangement much better than Gortschakov's original arrangement. Still, it doesn't come even close to Ravel's version in my opinion. It nonetheless makes for an interesting recording. The end of the piece is surprisingly weak, which is the combination of a less spectacular arrangement as well as an unusually lazy finish by the ensemble. It did not move me, and it should have."
