Synopsis

Album Description
Peter Tosh needs little introductions. As one of the original Wailing ?Wailers? and with his own solo career Tosh has changed Reggae music forever. Talking Revolution is one of his most outspoken releases ever. This two CD set covers Tosh?s live performance at the ?One Love Peace Concert? and features an extra bonus CD of live acoustic tracks from rare radio performances taken while Tosh was touring the US . The background to the 1978 ?One Love Peace Concert? was about as ?dread? as it was possible to get. Guns, politics, music and most importantly reconciliation; Jamaica?s warring factions were brought together in an effort to stop the violence. With the island?s most important political dignitaries in front of him as well as the world?s press and media, Tosh played probably the most dynamic set of his life. In between songs he launched into fierce attacks on Jamaica?s political system. Nobody was spared from Tosh?s explosive words. This is one of Jamaica?s most important artists at his most fiery. This release serves as an extensive, vital document to one of the most important figures in reggae and contemporary music. Highlighting Tosh?s political and spiritual path as well as his artistic vision ? this is an essential musical document and an absolute must for any music lovers.

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Disc #1 is live and weak. Disc #2 is a solo acoustic set and is truly superb."
