"Peter Maffay is not well known to me...as i have only recently discovered who he was, from listening to romantic tracks like "Du" ,on an audio tape of a German radio program a German friend sent me from there,which is absolutely absorbing with Peter Maffay's unique style and sincere vitality. ! Not being an exclusive rock fan (I love classical music as well,) I thoroughly enjoyed the tracks on this cd.... it is at once reminiscent of good old rock ,with just a touch of country flavoring in a couple of the tracks ! His guitar work is good...with lots of fervor...and "umph" (but I do NOT mean oompah ! ) : ) As a fan of good old American classic rock, I would recommend this album even to non-german speaking listeners... one doesn't really have to understand every word to feel the power of the music and performance ( I personally speak and understand some german, although I have CDs of great artists whose language I do not understand at all, and enjoy them greatly..perhaps all the more when one just wants to listen to a nice voice and good music, but not in any particular mood for meaningful lyrics! LOL ) I only gave it a 4 star rating, as I save the 5 stars for classical stuff (except Mr. Maffay's rendition of "Du" from his "Liebeslieder" cd ! that does earn a 5 from me !: ) Enjoy the mastery ! p.s. Amazon has a great collection of Peter Maffay's material and I personally have ordered several at once !"
