McCartney's Masterpiece

"Paul McCartney is one of the greatest songwriters of all time & a living legend. But there are times when Paul released some duds. "Driving Rain" & "Memory Almost Full" anyone? But in 2005 when Paul wanted to sleep walk on another album, producer Nigel Godrich made sure that wouldn't happened on his watch. Rumors has it that McCartney & Godrich got into some heated arguments while recording this album. But Godrich never back down and knew McCartney can do better. I'm glad he pushed Paul to do his best. This album is incredible. "How Kind Of You"(the best track on the album) is a mind blowing. It's show Paul's vulnerability. "Friends To Go" is a fitting tribute to George Harrison. "Riding To Vanity Fair" may have been a shot at his soon to be ex Heather Mills, the lyrics doesn't pull any punches. And don't be surprise to hear "This Never Happened Before" at future weddings. It's a touching song. It should had been a bigger hit. "Too Much Rain" has positive lyrics that can lift anyone out of their emo feelings. "A Fine Line", "At The Mercy" & "A Certain Softness" are also great tracks. "Chaos" should had won the Grammy's Album Of The Year back in 2006 instead U2's "How To Dismantle A Bomb". This album was released five years ago & I'm still listening to it today. I hope McCartney & Godrich will get back together to make one more album. If not, we will appreciated what these men did together for their only collaboration. Please pick up your copy."

"What an album! Macca's best since Flowers in the Dirt and better than Flaming Pie. It's a slow build but once it hooks you, this album seeps into your consciousness. I adore this record. How does he do it? From Canberra, Australia I salute you Sir Paul."

"This is not the Paul's 80s and 90s muzak. This is not Wings music of the 70s. This here is Beatles music. Most if not all of the songs would fit comfortably on the White Album, Rubber Soul or Revolver. That is not to say that these songs are imitations of past glories ala Bluebird. I docked it one star because what keeps this album from perfection is the absence of John, George and Ringo."
