This one-CD digest of the five-CD Complete Paul Desmond RCA Victor Recordings collects tracks recorded between 1961 and 1965, usually with the altoist matched with the superb guitarist Jim Hall, a musician possessed of comparable lyricism, economy, and harmonic gifts.
