CD Reviews

Vulgarity at its best ...By the Best
Gregory | La. | 02/09/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Lawanda is known for her tv person of the religous Aunt Esther on Sanford and Son, later for her chicken ads on tv. Her true start was that of a vaudville stand up, with Redd Foxx. ON the concert tours she did a full hour long SERVICE for those in need of being saved . The humor of Aunt Esther made the show funnier to those only who knew her vulgur past as part of the Redd Foxx group. She has 5 lps she recorded and 3 have been reissued on cd .THIS IS HER BEST!!!!!! BUT be warned ,,,,this is only for those who do not mind vulgar language and do not mind fun being made at religion. This is more down and dirty than Red Foxx and Richard Pryor put together . I have waited too long for this reissue and I am not disapointed with the results . Of ALL comedy recordings this is the BEST one ever recorded . You will not regret this one . you will be looking for her others after you hear this one. Sit yourself down give a listen and be ready to be saved by vulgarity at its best ."
The best of the series

"Lawanda is foul, original and enjoyable. I can listen to her 30 minute vulgar sermons over and over again. Of the 3 Lawanda CD's I have, this one is the best. Again,, it is only 30 minutes and a single track."
Good dirty fun!

"The target audience for a record like this might be on the slim side, given the constant foul language and the irreverent Biblical jokes. For those who aren't upset by dirty words and hilarious pokes at ranting preachers, this record can be damned funny - although LaWanda seems to run out of steam halfway through the disc."
