Product Description

On this new album, Il Fondamento and Paul Dombrecht explore some orchestral suites and overtures, among them the famous "La Bourse." Between 1712 and 1721, Telemann lived in the imposing mansion "Zum Braunfels" in the Liebfrauenberg in Frankfurt, which was owned by the fashionable "Frauenstein Gesellschaft" and of which the ground floor was occupied by the stock exchange. His Overture in B is a musical expression of the sorrows and problems of the stock exchange speculators, hence its epithet, "La Bourse." Let's hope that his music can provide some relief for the victims of the stock market in the 21st century!
