CD Reviews

Not less Miami Vice than the previous albuns
cloudlio | Sao Paulo - SP - Brazil | 04/19/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Well, unforgivings apart (only two Jan Hammer's compositions), a true Miami Vice album, related essentially to the fourth season. That season was not the best for sure, but it had its moments, and we can say they almost redeem the weak points on it. The few really good episodes just save and make it remarkable in an odd way. Thus, "The Wedding" represents one of the highest moments of the entire series, before the stormy as ever "Follow my Raimbow", when Crockett does justice with his own hands, what no one could imagine he'd ever do (specially Tubbs). After that, the series runs wild at the end of the fourth and the beginning of the last season (and Jan Hammer gets out of it). New York theme (remix) is very charming, actually better than the original (available in Miami Vice II), or at least, more mature than it.I'd put this way: For Vice fans, this is even more important than the other albuns, because it's more rare and kept important moments of the series. It has a very strange cover, however, for that certainly I would give one star only. But rest assured, the music and the memories from the episodes are better than the cover."
Lacks Jan Hammer
The Intelligent Junglist | U.S. | 10/28/1998
(2 out of 5 stars)

"This album takes its theme from the less-inspired fourth season of the show. There's really nothing special on it until the final track, an original composition by Jan Hammer. One day, MCA will release a box-set of Hammer's complete recordings for Miami Vice. We must all keep praying."
FINAL PUZZLE PIECE
Richard Barnwell Sr. | 02/23/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It was the final puzzle piece which was much needed to complete the set and was very enjoyable"
