Synopsis

Amazon.com essential recording
A downright minimal 40-minute outing from a pioneering English techno duo who on earlier discs required that long to warm up. And with six discrete "pieces," there are more ideas and musical themes here than is the norm with both the band and the genre. The title track, with its "you've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy" voiceover, is the trippiest headphone experience in years. --Jeff Bateman

Experimental soundscapes, almost like "found sound" art with melodic rhythms blended in.

CD Reviews

Uhh, TOO experimental...

"I have to say, I love every single Orb album (yes, even the new ones so many people complain about)... except this one. A little too avant-garde, this one... Every other Orb CD of mine gets a regular spin, except this... too much noise, hard to listen to. I can't quite figure out how you could drive to this one, as that reviewer mentioned a few reviews back.. I think I'd be tempted to crash into something if I listened to it in the car.

If you prefer some melody/rhythm in the music, don't bother with this one.. for lovers of extreme avant-garde/experimental or Orb completists only."
Just what I was looking for

"Going minimal and coming up roses is difficult. Paterson and crew nail it. Too avant-garde? Good! Give me more! Its variations on the same work never get boring. If it gets boring look elsewhere.... forever."
