CD Reviews

Christ-honoring music that's also good fun. Check it out!

"The word "talent" doesn't even begin to describe what God has given these men as their means of ministry. Their physical singing ability is great, but behind it, and empowering it, is a heart for Jesus Christ and the awesome energy of the Holy Spirit of God.The music on this album ranges from the fun (and even a little frivolous) song called "The Dream", where OTGH Quartet teams up with Gold City, to a host of much more reverent and moving melodies. For example, the title track, "The Lamb is King", exalts the risen Christ in a powerful way. "The Valley of the Shadow" speaks of the Christian's victory over death. And "Rest at His Feet" provides a beautiful illustration of God's compassion for us as sinners. The album contains 13 tracks in all, and each one is a great example of what southern gospel ought to be.I recently had the distinct privilege to have these gentlemen visit our church for a brief concert. They sound even better live than on CD, and to watch them perform you can truly see that they love their God and their ministry. That morning, Robby Heiner sang with our choir, just two seats down from me, and I got a fleeting opportunity to get to know him a bit. What a fun guy and a solid Christian. These men will edify you with their music, and more importantly, they bring honor and praise to our Lord. Check out this album. You'll love it."
This group will top the charts from now on; mark my words!

"The Lamb Is King is unquestionably one of my all-time favorite Southern Gospel recordings. From the beginning song, "There's A Brighter Day," to the last, which is the title track, it overflows with some of the best songs I've heard. "It Has Always Been The Soldier" should be heard by every American, and performed for each unit scheduled to leave for central Asia. It could easily replace Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA".For die-hard male quartet fans, there's "The Dream," a spoof of a deep bass singing contest between Christian (the OTGH Quartet's bass singer) and Tim, bass singer for the nationally-known Southern Gospel group, Gold City. I won't tell you who wins the contest -- that would ruin the song -- but Gold City fans will love this CD!"
