CD Reviews

Brilliant Masterstroke Of Instrumental movie score Magic

"I bought this soundtrack way back in 1992, i have had it ever since, the only part i'm dissapointed with is in the film there's a scene where Nancy comes home from talking with Glen on the riverbridge, she comes home & sees the bars on the windows & says "Oh gross"! the music that plays in that scene wasn't on the soundtrack, but other than that, the soundtrack was very creepy, but absoutely brilliant,it's music i like to play when i like to drift off to my own world. A real winner of a soundtrack."

"What can I say, I love HORROR MOVIE soundtracks adn this is just a classic to me. Since I also watch the movies almost every day and am a fan of the scores it was a must have for me. IF you are looking for a soundtrack with music this is not it, but if you like movie scores then it's worth it."
Excellent fan disc

"Strange that this is only an import. The complete soundtracks to the first two Nightmare on Elm Street discs is a much better than average horror score disc.Charles Bernstein is not well known, but his spare electronic score is creepy in the right places, and he created the famous theme for the series. Christopher Young's score is, I think, the stronger of the two. Young is a very solid composer who would go on to write the scores to Hellraiser and Hellbound, two of the better horror scores to come along. His work here is excellent, brooding, very moody, and effective. Reminded me of Horner's (still unreleased) score to Wolfen, and it certainly aided the film along the way. Freddy's Dead is one of the least popular sequels, yet it's very expressionistic and moody, and kept Freddy off-screen enough so he wasn't a wise-cracking anti-hero as in later films.Highly recommended for fans of the two first flicks, this is a great disc for soundtrack buffs, much more satisfying than Freddy's Favorites, which jams parts of at least five different movies (and composers) on one disc."
