Despite a few mistakes, an unforgetable concert!!
Lee Roschen | USA | 12/25/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This concert album by the long-time "Veteran Cosmic Rockers" launched a wonderful tradition of the Moodies hopping from one city to another, and doing a live show with an orchestra from the city of origin for the concert. The very first attempt at this was at the venue on the southwest side of Denver, namely the Red Rocks Natural Ampitheatre with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra. I have read that prior to blending the band and the orchestra on stage for this September 1992 performance, there was ONLY ONE rehearsal with the band and orchestra together. Nevertheless, the concert was a huge success, and a huge draw and fundraiser for PBS as well.

It is obvious and understandable that the Moodies had a few early jitters and butterflies, considering that lead singer Justin Hayward resumed singing "Tuesday Afternoon" at the end of the song when he shouldn't have, and Ray Thomas immediately followed with a humorous blunder of his own by singing the 3rd verse of "For My Lady" twice. But after the boys settled down, they really let'er rip, with John Lodge directing the orchestra by using his bass guitar as a baton at the close of "I'm Just A Singer", to Justin Hayward's incredible rendition of "Nights In White Satin" with the full orchestra wonderfully complimenting this timeless classic. The rest of the show was just as impressive and energetic.

Despite the two mistakes mentioned, if you love Moody Blues music, there is no reason you will not love this wonderful concert version of their incredible music."
