Try not to cry? TOO LATE!!!
The Fancy One | Westchester County, NY | 09/29/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I don't have this particular CD but I DO have every song that's on it. And what a collection! Get out the hankies, because these songs will touch your heart in such a way that will be hard to hold back the tears. The Billy May arranged tunes ("Once In A While", "When Your Lover Has Gone", "The Song Has Ended") are a little more upbeat, with the exception of the film noir feel of "Angel Eyes". But everything here is guaranteed to pull at your heartstrings. What I found to be interesting is seven (count 'em, SEVEN) of the songs here came from one Nat King Cole album, the poignant WHERE DID EVERYONE GO? from 1963, Nat's most serious effort as a pop balladeer, and my all time favorite Cole album. The other tunes are no less stellar. "Funny (Not Much)"? "There Will Never Be Another You"? "The End Of A Love Affair"? "There Goes My Heart"? "Say It Isn't So"? "There's A Lull In My Life"? They keep coming at you and hitting you hard! And what more can be said about Nat's take on the gorgeous "Stardust"? Absolutely the most touching love song EVER! The selections here are superb. If you don't get it you WILL cry, because you won't want to miss a thing! Just keep the kleenex handy. No one could sing a love song like Nat King Cole because he had the ability to make you feel every word. You can try not to cry, but I doubt if you can keep from doing so. Get it!!!!!!!!"
