Great for Blues Lovers

"This album by the legendary Nanette Workman is perhaps one of her all-time best. Her maturing raspy vocals help bring the entire blues effect to play. She never could have done this as well back in the sixties. This makes it very apparent that good things come with age. Nanette's best performance, I think, on this record is on the track called "Hallelujah." This song I know has been recorded a few times, but Nanette takes my breath away when she sings it. My personal favorite is "At the Mercy," a very sad tale of the tragedies and unfairnesses of life and how we feel. It's an incredibly well-written song and beautiful. The other tracks on this album are all extremely great and her voice is the perfect companion for the music. She shows more than talent, she shows emotion. You'll want to listen to this album over and over again to hear her booming vocals and great blues guitars. Play this one loud."

"Great album ... along the general lines of Bonnie Raitt, et al, yet unique in its vocal intensity and forwardness. It's a shame this is her first English-language album. After all these years, she has finally come home."
