Synopsis

Album Description
The Virgin Records debut from My Favorite Highway, How to Call a Bluff, is contemporary pop-rock at its finest with unshakeable hooks and evocative lyrics and melodies. Hailing from the DC area, MFH -- Dave Cook (vocals), Pat Jenkins (guitar), Will Cook (bass), and Bobby Morganthaler (drums) -- have been playing together for about 2 years, and began steadily building a young and loyal fan base starting in their hometown of Vienna, VA. Their local success led to regional and national touring opportunities supporting some of the biggest bands in their genre. It wasn't long before the band hooked up with local producer, Paul Barber, and highly esteemed mixer/producer, Jeff Juliano (John Mayer, Lifehouse, O.A.R.).

The Next Big Thing

"My Favorite Highway is sure to explode onto the music scene in the upcoming year. Their re-released album "How To Call A Bluff" is full of catchy, yet meaningful songs. They're lyrics are refreshing compared to other songs today. You'll find yourself replaying their album over and over again. It's the perfect soundtrack to the summer! The album kicks off with two lively, high-tempo songs. The third song, "Say So" is the band's first single off of record [...]. The lyrics in the song "It's like she takes me up to ten, but she leaves me at eleven" are perfect to describe the album as well as the object of the song. This album will leave you on a high that can only be fixed by replaying the album. The 5th song "Bigger Than Love" should be called "Bigger than Life" because that's how the song feels. If you only listen to one song off this album, this should be it. The song showcases the wonders of love, telling the listener that "nothing's bigger than love". The song builds up to a great climax that will have listener with no choice but to sing along to the anthem with the band, and feel the energy in the song. This song is followed by another favorite of mine "Dreamer". The second completely new song to the album, and has the most energy I've heard in any song in a long time. The hits keep piling in as the album continues, with song you'll find stuck in your head with no way out. The album ends on a ballad, "Steel City" about the town of Pittsburg. Be on the lookout, My Favorite Highway is sure to be the next big thing!!"

"How to Call a Bluff is a great album. My Favorite Highway starts the album with a great song, ends it with a great song, and everything in between is great also. Say So is my favorite song on the album, the music video is really good too.[...] GREAT ALBUM!"

"I love My Favorite Highway and this album is amazing. Everyone should buy it. I'm sure you'll love it. As a debut album from them, I am beyond excited to hear what's next for them. My favorite song off the album is "Getaway Car" but I love them all, which is rare. Usually I'll only like a few songs on an album, but I love every song on this album. With their beautiful melodies and catchy lyrics, it's just a matter of time before they are huge. Buy this album now, so you can say you knew and loved them before everyone else, because soon they'll be topping the charts with their catchy songs. [...]"
