Album Description
A collection of chamber works for cello and piano, cello and flute, and cello and guitar by composers both from Brazil and Mexico. Features the Sonata for cello and piano by Manuel M. Ponce, one of Mexico's foremost composers. Cellist Gustavo Martín collaborated in the correction of the new edition of the score made by the Mexico's National University. Also includes two pieces by Heitor Villa-Lobos: the Black Swan's Song for cello and piano, very much in the spirit of Saint-Saën's The Swan, and a very challenging work for flute called The Jet Whistle.
