Standard Mozart Overtures with Böhm

"This welcome re-issue contains the standard Mozart overtures conducted by Karl Böhm, and played by various German/Austrian orchestras. Overture compilations are always nice to have, as not only are all of Mozart's overtures fantastic pieces, but it is interesting to chart the progression of Mozart's style, ranging from the fairly straightfoward "The Abduction from the Seraglio" to the great, much longer and more in depth, "The Magic Flute," written much later. This CD would do well any fan of Mozart opera, or Böhm's un-pretentious (though sometimes languid and slow) reading of these works."
