Back on track!

(4 out of 5 stars)

""You Have Killed Me" is a great song and a real grower. upon first listen, i wasn't overly impressed...but i liked it okay. by the third listen, it was permanently fixed in my head. which is a sign of a good pop song. it's a very simple tune that matches Morrissey's beautiful croon with flattering effect.

Moz's love for The New York Dolls has never been a big secret so it's surprising that it took this long for him to cover one of their songs on record. he's been known to use "Subway Train" as a segway to other songs in the live setting and here "Human being" sounds great. and it's nice to hear Boz on sax again.

"I Knew I Was Next" is another very solid entry to the Ringleader b-sides. featuring a hooky chorus and a very strong vocal melody, and a cool 60's hammond organ popping up in the refrain, giving it a quick garage band sound. overall, the track shares a similiar sound to that of the Maladjusted b-side "I Can Have Both." great.

i have two (minor) gripes about this cd. one, the promotional sticker on the front of the cd case states that there is a fold-out poster included inside. which is surely not the case. there is a picture of Morrissey inside the cd insert...but that is not a poster! and must these kinds of stickers be stuck directly on the case? why do record pressing plants do this? errr...bugs me. just stick it on the shrink wrap, not the case. so, that's my second gripe. but these are complaints regarding the packaging, not the actual music.

oh, yea, there's a video on here too. Morrissey's strong point has never been videos, but thankfully , this is a pretty good one. enjoy!"

"Unlike most artists who release singles padded out with 20 minutes of remixes Morrissey's single releases come with new songs instead not included on his new album and they're all solid. You Have Killed Me is a great new song,I'm a Human Being has fantastic energy and Good Looking Man Around Town is a 2 minute song more satisfying than many average 5 minute songs. To me though the real reason to get this is the addictive I Knew I Was Next.As a longtime Morrisssey fan since the Smiths I think it's one of his coolest songs. If you're a Morrissey fan or even if you're not don't let this 4 song ep slip by!"
Worth it

"Well worth the money for these 3 non-album b-sides. Human Being is the strongest but they are all worth while."
