CD Reviews

Fabulous Collectible Item

"Morrissey himself may have sung it well in his song from when he was still with The Smiths, "Paint a Vulgar Picture," ..."Re-issue, Re-package, Re-package, Re-evaluate the songs double pack with a photograph...", the line is very applicable to this box set. But has there been a time when Morrissey in his solo career come out with his singles collection, each packaged in its own original sleeve? The answer is no. So ladies and gentlemen, Smiths and Moz fans, what are you waiting for? It is a handsome set, from the Handsome Devil he is. It even includes songs that never came out from his "My Early Burglary Years" album. Songs like East West, and Journalists who lie. Yes, those were the songs that were so difficult to find when I was in high school. Drawback is that it only contains materials from 1988 to 1991. But that adds the fun of waiting for the next box set...could it be "The singles, 1991-1997? Hmm, all we could do is wait. And now you can have it with a single click of a mouse's button. If you are a true fan, you know you'll like it. Enough said."
Re-mastering would have been nice.

"This is actualy a re-issue of a box set that was released in 1993. After 7 years and wonderful advances in sound mastering, you would have thought they'd have re-mastered the original tapes and put out some new CDs. I can only guess they're trying to make a lot of money at the least cost and at the expense of Morrissey fans.
That said, the music contained in this collection is a must for all fans of Moz's music."
