CD Reviews

A Remanifestation of Cosmic Fire
08/23/1998
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Those who enjoyed the ferocity and angst of MA's first release "Project ISA", should be pleasantly suprised with "LoveNest". LoveNest is a much higher quality production than the former, and takes the listener in far more seniscent and seductive realms, hovering somewhere between the Gothic, the Industrial, and good old fashioned rock and roll. Antistatist and Fine Homeland are probably the closest you'll ever see MA coming to a political comentary (or caustic criticism, if you will). Day One is a dark and dreamy enchantment, with sensual allusions to fantasies of brutality. O.G.G is a darkfunk anthem to the 'sins of the father complex', and includes a guest vocal appearance by Thomas Thorn of the notorious Electric Hellfire Club (sans processing). There is a gutsy live-track, Breakfast with Cthulu - a Project ISA favorite. They show they can shred with the best as they pay homage to the forces of darkness on The Pit, and Red Daimon Lives seems to alude to Anton LaVey's 11th Enochian Key - one wonders what these boys have gotten themselves into! If you're ready to be simulatneously ravaged and enlighted - buy this CD. Forewarned is forearmed"
