CD Reviews

WARNING: Repacaged Music

"This is a very sleazy record company trick of repackaging music and get unwary fans to buy the same thing twice.

There is a whole series of these "Extended Versions" CD's from BMG Special Products. All they have done is repackaged material from a group's live album or albums. They don't even include all of the songs from the original album. Plus the packaging is very cheap and there are no liner notes.

Beware of anything that comes from BMG Special Products. If you are any kind of fan of the band, you probably already own it."
Great live Molly Hatchet--unbeatable price!

"This CD was released originally in 2002, that's the one I have. At the time of it's release it was previously unreleased material. Since then King Biscuit has released the same concert under the name "greatest hits live" or something like that, it has two more "bonus" songs from the same show. One of them is Bloody Reunion, I forgot the other. So although Kireviewer is mostly correct in his assertations about the whole BMG Extended Versions collection, he's wrong about this one, it was all previously unreleased material at the time of it's release. This is a collection of live songs recorded during the Take No Prisoners tour with singer Jimmy Ferrar, and there's not a single thing wrong with the whole set (at least the 10 songs we have here). Good sound, good set-list. Jimmy has a whole different vocal style, but I like him. Best of all is the price, picked mine up here on Amazon brand new for basically the cost of shipping. Yeah, you don't get a fancy booklet or pictures or anything, just a cool Hatchet CD for cheap. You could get the King Biscuit version with the bonus songs for a few bucks more--but you'd better hurry I think it's been discontinued."
