CD Reviews

Young but talented

"For the times, this album should have done more than it did. I blame their marketing. I was 14 and LOVED Mista, but then they just disappered. I'm so happy for Bobby that he's getting another "chance". When I heard his "Slow Down" song, I had to look him up on the net. I saw his picture and I was like "OMG that's the Mista boy!" LOL. I LOVED Blackberry Molasses and Lady. I still have the video tape of their video when it used to air on BET. Man.. memories..10 years have floated by."
Brings Back Memories!

"I remember when Mista came to my lame high school and no one even knew who the heck they were. Everyone was gathered into the auditorium and the video to "Blackberry Molasses" was shown. After that there were a few games played and some prizes given away, then finally Mista came on stage and performed a few songs for us. It was an okay performance and there was a lot of pelvic thrusting. The light skin dude thought it would be safe for him to come off the stage and as soon as he did a flock of screaming of girls ran towards him. Man, he hopped back on that stage quick! After the show was over this guy came up to one of the girls who had ran to the stage and said, "Y'all looked like roaches on a crumb!" Oh gosh! That was too funny! Anyway, this girl in my geometry class had won a poster of the group and she kept saying, "Oooh, Bobby! He's so fine!" I just thought he was aight. Anyway, it's good that he's doing his own thing. But on to the CD review: I enjoyed it! It has a jazzy R&B sound that was popular around that time, a lot of instruments being played. This album was very mature from a teen boy group, but I'm not complaining. It's very thoughtful, emotional, and open to other occurrences in life."
Love Mista!

"Man, I loved Mista. I had their tape, and had their Word Up magazine pictures on my wall. Its too bad that they did not blow up like they did, because their album was good 9 years ago (I think its been that long). Anyways, thank Bobby V. for bringing new royalties to the group Mista. Oh, and listen to "Lady.""
