Synopsis

Product Description
A diminutive woman high collar librarian style, big glasses and a bigger guitar. Her voice and song are singular not exactly bred from the Ramones and Ronettes, but certainly compatible, of a complimentary angle. Who is that? Mirah. This is a short excerpt taken from the liner notes of The Old Days Feeling. K Records founder, Calvin Johnson recalls initial encounters with Mirah, setting the stage for which much of these songs originate. This collection comes from a variety of sources, home recordings, hard to find foreign compilations, out-of-print releases, alternate versions or previously unreleased tracks. Mirah is aided by a slew of friends on these songs including Phil Elverum (Microphones/Mt. Eerie), Karl Blau and Calvin Johnson. Coupled by her unmistakable voice, these lo-fi, experimental recordings are indicative of what has become Mirah's distinct sound.

CD Reviews

Really is the old days feeling
Ramona Fitzpumpkin | Massachusetts | 08/07/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

""The Old Days Feeling" is a collection of Mirah's early songs and demos that were either never released, or were released on hard to find compilations. The sound is pretty low-fi, much like her first album "You think it's like this..." If you like that album you should like this album. Please be warned: this album does not have studio quality, but is also was not recorded with a tape recorder either. I give this album four stars despite the sound quality."
