CD Reviews

Delicious

"Who has ever heard of Charles Wilp? Well, it's -yet another- german composer/artist/photographer that was ahead of it's time when he did his stuff. (Just like Peter-Thomas Sound Orchester or the 70-ties music from german and austrian soft-porn movies, schulmadchen) The stuff he did was kitschy pop that fits right into the description of easytune. The label ata tak gathered some of the best easytune/downtempo artists of the world and asked them to remix some of his work. Names like Pizzicato 5, Yellow Magic Orchestra, Tipsy, Stereo Total, Elektrotwist and Metrophonics make this 76:46 album a real feast. Some genuine easytune (track 4 by Metrophonics, brilliant) or actual elektro (track 12) make this a very consistent yet varied dance/downtempo album."
Superior nu-pop

"While no classic, this cd - a remix album of the easy-listening "Bunny", from 1968 - features some spectacular examples of the remixer's art. Expect kitsch pop, house and general techno-lite mayhem in a delicious conglomeration."
