CD ReviewsHeart of Love 02/11/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Heart of Love is a unique album. I believe it is the best album ever done that features the vibes and showcases the instrument's ringing nature. On every song Michael has found a way to allow the instrument to ring out without sounding contrived. At the same time this music is peaceful and relaxing. Songs like Aquarian Sunrise, Devachan, In a Silent Way, and Heart of Love, are all songs unlike anything one normally hears these days. Heart of Love is an absolute classic song. It is perfectly crafted and sounds like both jazz and classical music at the same time. Just when you think you can categorize Michael Ayres he changes up. There are elements of jazz, classical, latin, funk, ballads, and New Age, all in this music. Bravo, the world needs more music like this!" There are elements of smooth jazz, funk, classical, new age, latin, and ballads and the style is original and well crafted. It is a percussionists dream to play this kind of music. I cannot imagine why I have not heard songs like Aftertime, Pet Parade, or Heart of Love on the radio. They are at least as good as any smooth jazz that one will hear. This CD leaves one with a feeling of inner peace that is nice after a hectic day and so much noise that is on the air everyday. I hope to hear more from this talented artist in the future."
