Ive loved her since Plantation Lullabies and have followed her since, including seeing her live 8 times. But as of late, I must admit that I just dont "get" her anymore. and after seeing her live this year in Atlanta (which was abysmal) and listening to her latest offering, I dont get the sense that she cares if anyone "gets" her or not. and in a sense, I suppose thats cool. Art is for the artist. But I also thought that art was supposed to be a conversation between the artist and the observer. well, if that is the case, then someone is not hearing someone in this conversation. I think I'm just going to stop listening."
