"We have almost all the CDs in this series. They are all just wonderful. The biographies of the various musicians are very well-told, and you're exposed to a great selection of their music. I know enough about classical music to say that the selections are not always the most "obvious," i.e., you won't hear just the "greatest hits" of Mendelssohn here. The selections are also quite brief, except for his beautiful Violin Concerto played in full at the end (a nice performance of that, as far as my ears can tell). The story is quite inspiring and sad--he lived a full, but short, life, and seemed to be a lovely sort of man. Our whole family likes this and indeed all of the dozen+ CDs we've got in this series.
