"This is not the standard, mainstream hip-hop you hear on the radio. This is something different. Me Phi Me formed in Chicago in the late 80's and soon after released their first and (i'm pretty sure) only album, "ONE". When this came out, it was like nothing I had ever heard. This is (mostly) acoustic guitar with hip-hop beats and positive, intelligent lyrics that are real, not cheesy. The songs sometimes deal with some serious issues, but there is a sense of fun throughout the album that never lets it get too heavy. Some of the standout tracks are "Sad New Day", "Not My Brotha", "Keep It Goin", and "It Ain't The Way It Was", but all of the songs are great. Even the little interludes between some of the songs are good. If you ask me, this is close to being a perfect album. Even those who don't normally like hip-hop may catch themselves enjoying it. Take a chance and pick this one up. Oh, and if you want more Me Phi Me, they had a song on the "Reality Bites" Soundtrack that wasn't on this album."

THE BEST ENLIGHTENED HIPHOP

"THIS IS THE SOME OF THE BEST THAT HIPHOP HAS TO OFFER. THERE IS SOMETHING HERE FOR ALL TO GLEAN. LOVE,MOTIVATION, UPLIFTMENT AND ENCOURAGEMENT. THIS TYPE OF HIPHOP WAS NOT WELL RECEIVED BY URBAN MAINSTREAM BACK IN THE DAY. AS MOST POSITIVITY IS SHUNNED BY THE HARDCORE RAP COMMUNITY. THIS ALBUM WAS UNFORTUNATLY BEFORE ITS TIME. MAYBE IF A 2000 STYLE MEPHIME EMERGED IN THE 2000 POP RAP SCENE THEN HE WOULD SURPASS EVEN HAMMER IN RECORD SALES BECAUSE ALL AMERICA WOULD EMBRACE THIS STYLE OF HIPHOP. FOR ALL YOU WHO WANT MORE THERE IS A WEB SITE. THERE IS ALSO A TRACK ON ON THE "STARNGE DAYS SOUNDTRACK" PEACE."

The Best C.D. Out There

"Me Phi Me is one of the BEST artists out there, his lyrics are not only extremely motivational, but he provides a positive message. His lyrics are emotional, and beautiful. "One" is THE best album I own of any artist. There are many different types of songs on this album, whether you want to get up and dance to "Pu' Sho Hands 2Getha", or whether you are having a bad day and need some cheering up, then "Sad New Day" is the song for you. I do not see why Me Phi Me isn't the most famous artist out there, people need to know of him and his beautful music. I do not understand why the C.D. is so hard to find, also!!



Please invest in this C.D., it's one of the best out there!"
