"I have been listening to MCC for years. In fact we were at a venue in Alexandria, VA the night she said she was quitting her day job! Everyone I've introduced to her music not only loved it, but purchased her music. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I already have all this music on other albums. One of the great things about her is that you can always understand what she is saying and and she has some great stories to tell."

"I find this collection to lack variety and the very thing that the "playlist" collections are supposed to be about. 7 of these tracks are from Come On Come On, a good album but might as well just get that one. If you find you want one single disc collection from this excellent singer and songwriter look to Party Doll or Essential for more well rounded song choice and as of this writing the same list price."

"Fans can skip this CD and pick up "The Essential Mary Chapin Carpenter," which has all these songs and several more, and it is also remastered. Plus, its less expensive!

That said, MCC has yet to release an actual "greatest hits" album that includes all her hit songs. She is such a great artist with so many hits that it would truly take a two-CD set to showcase all her radio hits and popular songs. Here's hoping that set gets released soon."
