CD Reviews

Nothing New Here
Just Me! | Nevada, Iowa 50201 | 04/08/2008

"There is nothing new by Marie on this CD issued by Curb on 4/8/08, no hidden gems or buried treasure- not even a new photo. They use a 1988 photo for the cover shot. This is the same package issued by Curb in 1990 formerly titled "The Best Of" with the exception of the two songs "I'll Be Faithful To You" and "Think With Your Heart" being switched for "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Sweet Life." While the design and package are attractive, Curb still missed the boat with this release. With the fact that Marie has a huge catalog of material to choose from they go and reissue the same songs again. Hopefully since a UK based company will be in fact issuing the Osmond Brothers, Donny and Donny & Marie's entire catalogs, hopefully Curb will follow suit and do the same. Or better yet, issue the unrelased albums Marie recorded in 1979 ("It's The Falling In Love") and her 1994 album ("True Love Never Goes Away"). Come on Curb- get with it and give Marie's fans something NEW!"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? FOR REAL? NO I MEAN, ARE YOU SERIOUS????

"What the flippity-flap are the heads at Curb thinking? Do they really think that true Marie fans don't already have these songs? Do they think that because they tack on the word "Dancing" (to cash in on her new found popularity from Dancing With The Stars, no doubt) that some one other than her true fans will buy this? We know that there are other unreleased songs sitting there. The least they could do is show some respect to Marie's 2 other albums released in the late 80's, All In Love and Stepping Stone and include some songs from them on these never ending compilations. (Yeah, I know Sweet Life is on this one. That's a first.) Ok, so I vented and rambled long enough. Maybe when Marie's talk show comes on, or maybe next time she collapses on live TV, maybe then we'll get some new, fresh material. Now, I am going to go pour myself a glass of wine, put on my CD player, and listen to my homemade CD of "rare" Marie tunes, Including, "Get Me To Heaven", "What Do Lonely People Do", "LA Song" "A Bad Case Of You" "Back To Believing Again" "The Loft", "What Kind Of Man Walks On A Woman" among others. Are you reading this Curb records??????"

"This the same greatest hits cd that's been out before the only thing new is the song boogie woogie bugle boy which was made famous by the Andrew Sisters. Still it's an good cd if you have it or not?
