The (kinda sorta) Remixes
rmcrae | Houston, Texas | 05/12/2010
(4 out of 5 stars)

"It was admirable of Mariah to ask her former label Sony to help her in compiling a record of her numerous remixes. Her ex hubby and former Sony head Tommy Mottola getting the boot must have made her click her Louboutin boots in glee too (can't say I blame her!). The Remixes successfully satisfies both of Mariah's main fanbases: the Clubheads and Hip-Hop luvahs.

Disc 1 features some of her biggest dance mixes like the My All (Morales "My" Club Mix) and Heartbreaker/If You Should Ever Be Lonely (Junior's Heartbreaker Club Mix). The Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise) and Fantasy (Def Club Mix) are highlights. Only nine songs are included because most of them exceed 7 to 12 minutes. Plenty of time for you to shake your booty on the dance floor.

Being a big R&B/Hip-Hop lover, disc 2 is my fav. Finally songs like the late night Make It Last remix of Thank God I Found You and Stay Awhile So So Def Mix for My All are together. The One remix is pretty good, but I prefer the original. There are a few cons though. Why in the world are non remixes like Breakdown, Crybaby, and Sweetheart here? This is supposed to be a remix cd after all. Why not include the Mobb Deep extended version or Full Crew mixes of The Roof or the Mo' Thugs mix of Breakdown? Especially the darker Drifting remix of Underneath the Stars? Getting those rare songs on one disc would be perfect. The previously unreleased Miss You and summer hit I Know What You Want with Busta Rhymes are excellent.

Despite the gripes, it's a great purchase for the fans looking for the majority of Mimi's remixes."
