Mariah's Career Highlight
Aaron | Ohio, USA | 03/12/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Don't get me wrong, Mariah has had TONS of awesome singles, but this one was without a doubt her best one. The beat was irresistible, her vocals were fantastic, and the sampling was perfect. "Fantasy" was one of the best pop singles of the 90's. However, I'm not a big fan of the ODB remix. I enjoy the original too much. "Fantasy" also marked Mariah's decent into the hip-hop genre and although it had great results on this, future singles would suffer."
Nice Remixes But Where Is The Nice Sweeet Dub Mix?

"I like this single a lot and I think it's still one of her best RnB songs she's ever sung. But I would like to ask where is the dub mix called "FANTASY (Sweet Dub Mix) it's very nice and I've heard the full version before. You can hear a sample of it in short version on her album "DAYDREAM". It's track 11 "Daydream" Interlude (Sweet Dub Mix). It's just over 3 minutes. But has a Spanish touch to it. Over all the single which is this is simply club smashing. Especially the DEF CLUB MIX if you in the mood to get your butt shaking in the night. Give this one a listen and you'll see!"
Fantastic

"This was the song that made me a Mariah fan. I just love its rhythm. The Bad Boy remix is one of the best remixes I've ever heard. It has more resemblance to Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love" (the song "Fantasy" is based upon) than the album version. The following 2 remixes are pretty much the same as the Bad Boy remix. I'm not into very long remixes so I usually don't listen the 5th track.
Note: The album version is from "Daydream". The ODB remix is also featured on "#1's", and the new album "The Remixes" features both the ODB remix and the Def Club Mix so if you have these albums you don't need this single."
