She definately beat the odds with this number...

"Mariah Carey, as we all know, usually writes her own material. Every now and then, of course, a really special, meaningful song, like Against All Odds, just can't be passed up. Mariah has stated that her album Rainbow is about all the different emotions she endured over the past couple of years before settling down to record this project. This song, in particular, sounds like it has something to do with the break up of her marriage to Sony Music CEO Tommy Mottola. I may be wrong, but the words and emotion Mariah sings with would definately lead one to think that this is what this song is about. The additional tracks, Cry baby (kind of annoying; too much vocal acrobatics), Thank God I found You -remix (same tempo as the orignal, accept that some different drums beats and chimes have been added), and Can't take that away -remix (very fast paced dance number; quite refreshing from the original version). For the most part, any Mariah fan would enjoy this import."
