Great sound quality on this eclectic mix of hits

"This is a re-mastered collection of some of Maria Bethania's hits. It is a nice collection of upbeat and sensual tunes with some live performances thrown in. It is neither a comprehensive collection of her hits (a better one for that is "Serie Sem Limite Maria Bethania" or a greatest hits collection. I am not sure how this set was chosen but they fit well together and the sound quality is great unlike many CDs from Brazil.Some of the highlights are "Olhos nos Olhos" a hit from the 1970s written by Chico Buarque, "Alguem me Aviso" with participation from her brother Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil. Another great one is "Mano Caetano" an affectionate song about her brother written by Jorge Ben with participation from Jorge Ben. There are also other well-known ones such as "Cor Brasileira", "Rosa dos Ventos", "Essa Cara", and "As Cancoes Que Voce Fez Pra Mim". There is an interesting short live one with Chico Buarque called "Sinal Final" and others for a total a 14 nice songs by Bethania."
