"Mari Boine has become one of my favorite vocalists from around the world. The rhythms of music and melody join a style that is at once like many modern folk vocals and yet is quite unique in that it maintains a tradition of Finnish joik that sounds less surreal and electronic than Wimme, for example, yet not constricted in tradition that would make it sound like an ethnographic sampling. The beat is deep and her voice is rich, strong, beautiful, yet simple in some ways.A word of caution. The selections on this CD are significantly redundant to those found on another title, Radiant Warmth. And, for twice the price (import)..I would suggest that you purchase the alternative, instead. But, if you are a collector of her work, then you'd want to consider Leahkastin (Unfolding)."

"For over four years I've been looking for this CD. I've had the honor of hearing Mari & her band in concert and this is the closest you can get to the live experience. No matter the emotion, you will feel it while listening to this music. Pay the price of this CD, it's more than worth it!"
