Freewheeling Grooves!!

"I am very happy as I listen to this concert CD. These 4 dear old friends of mine whom I've never met, but who've met me on a soul level, are touching me once again. They need not speak to me through classic funk anthems, or power chords and screams. They are in their 60's and I in my mid 40's. Any true Mandrill fan loved the "Composite Truth" album for it's sensitive and exuberant quality with songs like "Hang Loose", "Fencewalk" or "Don't Mess With People". This CD reminds me very much of that period. Yes, the show leans toward the mellow side - but it is never boring or bland. It is as thoughtful, elegant, and classy as the Wilson Brothers themselves. It does not have the constant throbbing keyboards of Coffee Cave, or the majestic bouncing bass lines of Fudgie Kae Solomon. And so we have the Wilson Brothers, with a exceptional group of musicians, playing beautiful, thoughtful Mandrill compositions. This is music to love and cherish. It's all about growing old with dear friends whom you loved when you were younger. We allow them to create and explore and entertain us. Listen to a lot of today's music and than listen to this disc again. It's wonderfully unique, and in a strange way, quite relevant to indie music fans. It is certainly adult alternative heaven."

"The sound is so clean. Alot of DVDs that feature horn sections get really muddy, but this was does not. They are so talented. TOO FUNKY, TOO FUNKY."
