CD Reviews

Wonderful

"This is a magnificent SACD, sound and performance. Szell, in heaven, must be particularly happy with Sony's line of his masterworks.
You will hear how wonderful old analog recordings can be and how refreshing it is to hear natural hiss. This has not been ruined by having it no-noised. Blows away PCM recordings.
The Mahler 10 and the Firebird are particularly involving. I have listened to this over and over. Do not hesitate. Buy it."
Great Mahler!!

"A phenomonal CD. The sound is great and the performance is outstanding.

For me, the Walton is a true find. The Mahler is wonderful. I only wish he had recorded the whole symphony.

Great music making!!!"
Vintage in every way

"Decent sonics on this SACD. It sounds like old tape . . . which is exactly what the SACD is reproducing. If you like the music, it's great. If performance floats your boat, it's also great. On my vintage tube receiver, this is one SACD I use the loudness switch for. That really makes it fly."
