CD Reviews

MAGNIFICIENT

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Only gems on this album, as Magna Carta had always delivered so far...

The addition of Gordon Huntley (steel-guitar), previously member of the excellent Matthews Southern Comfort sure does'nt hurt.

Each track is beautifully written, polished, played ans sung. Beautiful arrangements of voices, guitars & everything... A dream come true...

Christopher Simpsons' songs are (at least) as good as ever here, but the title number "Lord of the Ages" reaches biblical dimensions here for sure... Strangely, I can never listen to the number "Father John" (with its trhilling accappella chorus) without thinking of Beatles (Paul)'s "Eleanor Rigby"...

Every song on this album is pure magic.

In any case, highly recommended to every Simon & Garfunkel fan, they'll get the British version of S&G and much more... And to anyone who appreciates music...
