"This audio book in a unique combination of a descriptive narrative of the triangle relationship between Robert and Clara Schumann and Johannes Brahms, and includes readings from their personal letters and diaries. In-between passages is the wonderful piano music of Lucy Parham, a Schumann-specialist and creator of the project. Beloved Clara' has been touring the US as a live event."

"Call me an incurable romantic, call me sentimental but I was won over by this wonderful record. It's like that play 'Love Letters'where they booked celebrity couples to read from a series of letters back and forth. This takes it a step further and not only reads the love letters between Robert & Clara Schumann but also those from Johannes Brahms to Clara. And also contains readings from thier diaries.

Lucy Parham has selected music by all three composers (along with a Mendelssohn track) to illustrate the readings by the actors Joanna David & Martin Jarvis.

By the end I was choked up and almost on the verge of tears. I actually had to pull my car over on the freeway so I could recover and drive safely.

This is a very imaginative project and a wonderful CD. I give 5 out of 5 stars. It's for everyone who ever fell in love, experienced unrequited love and the pain of longing.
