CD Reviews

Another favorite Lou album!

"This album is known for the funky Let Me Be Good to You. Lou has this song loaded with a funky percussion section and strings on here! And those sexy female background vocals backing Lou's baritone singing. I remembered him performing it on the Merv Griffin Show with those blinking triangle lights going on and off on Merv's stage. But What's the Matter With the World would sound so good today what with situations such as the war in Iraq and the problems in the world. It's a very fitting soundtrack for today, even if was released in 1979. This album didn't do as well as his hits in 1976 and 1977, but it's just as potent and strong in musical and vocal quality from Lou."
This 1979 release shows Lou at his very best.

"Although it did no t do as well saleswise as Lou's first two PIR releases, there can be little if any doubt that this was just as good an album. With beautiful Quiet Storm ballads ("Sweet Tender Nights","Lover's Holiday" and the hit title track) as well as the mid-tempo disco numbers "Time Will Take Care Of Everything" and "What's The Matter With The World?", Lou was reall y in his prime (vocally)."
