The Los Angeles Brass Quintet was comprised of members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra. Founded in 1966 , the group toured the U.S. and Europe, and played its last concert in 1975. These recordings were originally released on Chrystal Records LP's S102 and S602 in 1967 and 1968. They received immediate attention as they represented some of the best recorded brass playing. In addition to their activities with the Philharmonic, the musicians established reputations as soloists and teachers.
