CD Reviews

Towner at his best. Arild is a jewel.

"This CD has just been the complete bomb for me ever since a friend laid it on me. I'm a huge Towner fan, and I'm here to say that there are cuts in here that I consider some of his finest work, which is especially interesting because this is really the Arild Anderson show. The bass and acoustic guitar operate on the same plane, neither subservient to the other. Many songs consist of Arild and Vasconcelos alone. Arild writes most of the songs. I was totally unfamiliar with him before now, but I am quite a follower of jazz bassists and especially well recorded acoustic bass. His fingers can fly with ease, but there are a plenty of top notch players out there that can let it rip. I currently possess no recordings that can match the tonal quality and expressiveness that Arild displays herein. Excellent recording quality, a real litmus test for a system to produce very low acoustic bass notes."
A musical experience

"This trio is great. Of course, I am not saying nothing new, but although everybody knows the capacity and skills of Andersen, Towner and Vasconcelos, this trio works as an unit.
The music of this CD can take your imagination to go around not only to all the world but to your interior in search for different emotions.
A special note for Nana. As he can demonstrate in every participation, he is the greatest creator of atmosphere at all. And in this CD (as he could show in "Travels" and "So far Wichita falls..." with Pat Metheny) he can not be replaced by anybody.
In conclusion, this is an enormous CD that any fan of Towner, Arild or Nana must have."
