CD Reviews

Great Sound & Great Playing From Michael
"The Woj" | Downers Grove, IL | 01/11/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Don't be fooled by the "cheap" looking photo. This recording is first rate; excellent sound with a great mix. The vocal volume is placed at a level just below the guitars, leaving them right up front in the mix.

Michael's playing here is first rate. Where the "Endless Jam" albums (as well as other studio efforts) come across with a "music by numbers" feel, Schenker's performance on this live album has some real spirit and inspiration. The band is extremely tight and the vocals are surprisingly good! No, it's not "Strangers In The Night", but I would highly recommend this for any Michael Schenker fan.

***By the way...why did Amazon decide to post my review for the Schenker/Schwartz live album on the page for Michael's new album "In The Midst Of Beauty"? Or is it Siggi's new album? Get it right Amazon. Now I can not post a review for "In The Midst Of Beauty" because Amazon posted this here (only one review per item)! Well my review is now in the comments section below. Please click "yes" if helpful. Schenker deserves better than the runaround he's getting here.***"

"This is must have for serious Schenker collectors. The performances are great but it's also fun to hear the german dialog in between songs, especially if you understand the language. This is unique and a great time capsule. I especially got a big kick out of the guy doing vocals on Ice Cream man..."I'm your ice cream man, staddle-daddle pass me by" HAHAHA!! Way cool! If you're buying this for great guitarwork and to add to your Schenker collection, you will be very pleased!"
