CD ReviewsOne of the best of Lightin' Hopkins' best albums! David Au | Singapore | 01/11/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "~I bought a dozen of Hopkins' albums. This is the one I cannot ignore. From my experience, it seems that most of the albums tittled "Best of ..." do not prove to be the best for Lightnin's case. You have to dig for the "real best" by yourself. And this is the one.Also released under the tittle "L.A. Blues", this ranks among Lightnin's VERY best albums, either in terms of guitar work, or in terms of singing and sound quality. All acoustic, this album showcases his bluest style as a~~ unique blues guitarist and singer. Besides "Autobiography in Blues", this is another fine masterpiece by Hopkins, who is at his best when he is alone. Get this one and "Autobiography in Blues" if you want to get to know this outstanding blues guitarist.~"
