CD Reviews

Leon and Mary were IN LOVE

"I've been waiting for many years for this album to be released on CD. My sisters and I know every word to every song, and this Christmas was made all the more special when I surprised them both with this 1976 favorite. From the bass beat of the opening track ("Rainbow in Your Eyes") to the island rhythm of "Love's Supposed to Be That Way" to the sultry "Satisfy You," Leon and Mary don't fail to satisfy. I don't know how long their marriage lasted, but it was worth it if only to put out this collection of love songs. Their harmonies are mesmerizing, and you will HAVE to dance to many of these tracks. Yes, there are a couple of schmaltzy ones in the mix, but overall, it's an amazing collection of work. You can tell they were crazy about each other."

"Leon is one of my all time unsung heroes, I have all the albums and have seen him live on several occasions. The Wedding Album was a constant car tape when it first came out and I am blasted that we meet up again. The tracks are sheer exuberant honky tonk good times and the pairing was truly inspirational. Leon at his finest, put it on replay and learn to love this warm strong rocker, the vocals and backing are just awesome. On a goood system they rattle the rafters and send your spirits up there too!! YES You love this album in a place where there's no space or time!"
Another great album

"Love this album. Since purchasing it, I have listened to it over and over and haven't tired of it. I remember hearing it as a child in the 70's on my parents' turntable, and am enjoying revisiting it as an adult. Russell purists may balk at the inclusion of his then-wife, but I find it adds another layer to his genius."
